Mother to Mother/Mother to Child are programs which help mothers more effectively communicate with their children regarding safety issues. This is our partnership with Children's Safe Harbor and Phase One has been funded by the Houston Endowment.

The Inspiration for Mother to Mother Education

School-based prevention programs and collaborative investigative, treatment and prosecution strategies and organizations, especially children's advocacy centers, have not appeared to decrease in incidence of child sexual abuse and abductions after 30 years of national effort.  With this collaborative project, we invite another important player to the national prevention conversation---Mothers.

The heart of this project and our recommendations for safety education and communication are the words shared by the Mothers who had witnessed the tragedy of a 12 year old boy's abduction and death.  It is these Mother's heartfelt belief that we need to deal with this issue openly and honestly, without feeding fear.

Paulette Norman is an inspirational person who has taken the opportunity to turn the tragic loss of her only son, McKay, into an avenue to help educate children, parents, grandparents, and communities on how children can be safe at home, at school, and on the playground.  Paulette's belief that wisdom can come from adversity inspired her to develop a plan of action to compile and share Mother's wisdom following the tragic death of McKay.

Join us as we take the courage to turn the "seconds of tradegy" into the "seconds of prevention" as we share with each other, Mother to Mother.
